Talis Launches Empowering Graduate Program for Emirati Talent
Thales, the global technology company specializing in aerospace, defense, digital security and space solutions, has launched a new graduate training program specifically designed for Emirati talent. The initiative aims to build a strong foundation of national expertise while expanding job opportunities in the UAE, supporting the country's vision of developing local capabilities in advanced technology sectors.
The program targets recent graduates with up to one year of experience who hold bachelor's or master's degrees in engineering or computer science. Candidates need strong communication skills, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset. This approach reflects the UAE's broader strategy to reduce dependence on foreign expertise and build homegrown talent in critical industries.
What makes this program different is its multi-faceted learning approach. Participants get a comprehensive curriculum delivered through face-to-face courses, virtual modules, and self-study sessions. Regular follow-up meetings ensure continuous learning and progress tracking, giving graduates real-world experience alongside theoretical knowledge.
Abdul Hafeez Mordi, CEO of Thales Emirates Technologies, emphasized the company's commitment to investing in Emirati youth. "We believe in human potential, and there's no greater investment than in Emirati youth who will lead tomorrow's industries," he said. The program goes beyond basic training to include mentorship, confidence building, and global insights that participants will carry throughout their careers.
The structured learning framework covers company integration, core skills, technical training, leadership development, and project-based learning. Graduates receive mentorship from senior Thales specialists and gain international experience through cross-border projects, broadening their global perspective - something particularly valuable in today's interconnected technology landscape.
The program also benefits from support through "Nafis," a federal initiative that enhances the competitiveness of Emirati talent. This alignment with national objectives reinforces the UAE's commitment to empowering citizens in the private sector, moving away from traditional reliance on public sector employment.
Initially, the program will target top graduates from leading UAE universities including Khalifa University, American University of Sharjah, UAE University, Al Ain University, and Higher Colleges of Technology. The focus remains on engineering and technology disciplines, reflecting the country's push toward becoming a global technology hub.
Graduates can choose from four specialized learning tracks: core business exposure, customer-focused journey, innovation and digitization, and field expertise. Each track is tailored to match different career aspirations, allowing participants to align their development with their professional goals.
Those who complete the program and final assessment will have opportunities to take positions across various Thales departments in the UAE and internationally. By introducing participants to advanced technologies and supporting the UAE Vision 2031 and localization goals, this initiative demonstrates Thales' long-term commitment to developing Emirati talent in high-tech industries that will shape the country's economic future.
