State Leader Praises Educators as Noble, Pivotal Figures in Society's Advancement
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the country's teachers on World Teachers' Day, calling them central to building society and shaping future generations. His message highlights the UAE's focus on education as a cornerstone of its long-term development strategy.
In a post on X, Sheikh Mohammed described teachers as carrying a "noble educational mission" with a crucial role in advancing communities. He thanked UAE educators for their dedicated work in education and instilling values that align with the nation's development goals.
"Teachers have a noble educational and pedagogical mission and play a central role in the advancement of societies and building the future of generations," he wrote. "On World Teachers' Day, I salute the teachers in the UAE and express my appreciation for their sincere efforts in education, instilling values and morals, and achieving educational goals that are at the heart of our developmental vision for the present and future."
The statement reflects the UAE's broader push to strengthen its education sector as part of economic diversification efforts. The country has been investing heavily in educational infrastructure and teacher training programs as it works to build a knowledge-based economy less dependent on oil revenues.
This recognition comes as the UAE continues reforming its education system, including curriculum updates and new teaching methods aimed at preparing students for a rapidly changing global economy. The government has made education quality a key metric in its Vision 2071 plan, which aims to make the UAE the world's best country by the nation's centennial.
