رئيس الدولة ونائباه يهنئون ملك المغرب بذكرى استقلال بلاده
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent congratulations to Morocco's King Mohammed VI on his country's Independence Day. The gesture highlights the strong diplomatic ties between the two Arab nations as Morocco marks this significant national milestone.
Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who also serves as Dubai's ruler, joined in sending similar congratulatory messages to the Moroccan king. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who holds multiple senior government positions including Deputy Prime Minister, also extended his congratulations.
Morocco celebrates its independence from French and Spanish colonial rule, which it gained on March 2, 1956. The country had been under protectorate status since 1912, with France controlling most of the territory and Spain governing smaller northern and southern regions.
This diplomatic exchange reflects the broader cooperation between the UAE and Morocco across multiple sectors. Both countries have strengthened their economic partnerships in recent years, with significant Emirati investments flowing into Moroccan infrastructure, renewable energy, and tourism projects. The relationship has become particularly important as both nations work to diversify their economies and expand their influence in Africa and the Middle East.
For the UAE, maintaining strong ties with Morocco supports its broader strategy of building partnerships across the Arab world and Africa. Morocco's strategic location as a gateway between Europe and Africa makes it a valuable ally for Emirati businesses looking to expand their reach in both regions.
