Dubai's Emergency and Crisis Management Committee Convened by Mansour bin Mohammed
Dubai's emergency management committee met today to review the emirate's crisis preparedness plans and strengthen coordination between government agencies, private sector, and civil society. The meeting, chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, focused on maintaining Dubai's position as a global leader in emergency response and institutional resilience.
The committee reviewed updated emergency and crisis plans during the session at Emirates Towers. They examined coordination levels between relevant authorities and assessed how well vital sectors can handle different potential scenarios. The goal is to cement Dubai's reputation as a city that excels in preparedness, flexibility, and institutional sustainability.
Sheikh Mansour emphasized that Dubai's readiness isn't just measured by its ability to respond to crises. "Our preparedness is about predicting risks and staying ahead of them with comprehensive plans, qualified personnel, and effective institutional coordination," he said. He stressed that sustainability should be a shared responsibility across all sectors.
The committee highlighted the need for better integration between government entities, private companies, and civil organizations. This coordination ensures the highest levels of preparedness and rapid response capabilities. They also emphasized activating field command systems and developing the technical and information infrastructure that supports quick, accurate decision-making during emergencies.
Sheikh Mansour directed teams to continue developing workforce capabilities through intensive practical and field training. He also called for strengthening risk analysis and prediction systems to maintain sustainable readiness and improve response efficiency at both field and strategic levels.
The meeting reviewed efforts by various agencies to enhance the emirate's resilience and ensure business continuity for essential services under all conditions. Officials discussed updating field and digital coordination mechanisms between relevant authorities, developing early warning systems, and improving data analysis capabilities.
Attendees agreed that investing in human resources and expanding strategic partnerships with national and academic institutions form the foundation of Dubai's comprehensive crisis and emergency management system. This approach aligns with the emirate's vision of building a more prepared and sustainable city for the future.
