Dubai Ruler Praises Bahrain's Vital Role in the Region, Envisions Shared Destiny
UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum congratulated Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahraini people on their National Day, highlighting the strong bonds between the two Gulf neighbors through a heartfelt social media message.
The Dubai ruler posted his congratulations on X, saying he wished Bahrain continued security, prosperity and progress. "We congratulate my brother King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the brotherly people of the Kingdom of Bahrain on celebrating their glorious National Day," he wrote. "We ask God to grant Bahrain continued security, safety and prosperity, and to grant its people further progress and flourishing."
Sheikh Mohammed added a personal touch to his message, describing Bahrain as "heart and eye" and expressing hopes for "eternal love and shared destiny, God willing." The poetic language reflects the deep cultural and political ties that bind the UAE and Bahrain as fellow members of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Both countries have strengthened their relationship in recent years through increased trade partnerships and coordinated foreign policy positions. The UAE and Bahrain were among the first Arab nations to normalize relations with Israel in 2020, and they continue to work together on regional security issues and economic diversification efforts.
Bahrain's National Day commemorates the country's independence and the establishment of the modern kingdom. The annual celebration typically features military parades, cultural events, and official ceremonies attended by regional leaders and dignitaries.
