Vice President's Alleged Outburst Sparks Controversy: Vance Responds
US Vice President J.D. Vance responded to a viral social media image that allegedly showed him in a heated argument with his wife Usha. Vance dismissed the photo as undated, unverified, and likely created using artificial intelligence technology.
Trump opponents used the image to comment on Vance's personal life. One Facebook user sarcastically wrote: "Looks like things aren't going well in the Republican republic."
Vance fired back on X with his own joke: "I always wear an undershirt when I go out in public to argue loudly with my wife."
The couple has faced a wave of rumors about their relationship since October. Speculation intensified after Usha appeared at two events with First Lady Melania Trump without wearing her wedding ring. Her spokesperson explained that as a busy mother, she sometimes forgets to put on the ring.
This isn't the first time the Vances have dealt with public scrutiny of their marriage. In a previous NBC News interview, Vance said he doesn't worry much about the gossip, noting that they "kind of enjoy it."
The incident shows how quickly AI-generated content can spread on social media and become part of political discourse. But it also highlights how public figures are learning to respond to fake images with humor rather than lengthy denials.
