UAE's Knowledge is the Symbol of Our Dignity, Unity, and Source of Pride - Sheikh Mohammed
UAE Vice President and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the national flag's role as a symbol of dignity and unity during Flag Day celebrations. His message on social media highlighted how the flag represents the country's pride and federal bond across seven emirates.
Sheikh Mohammed posted on X that the UAE flag "is the symbol of our dignity and unity, the banner of our pride and glory, and the symbol of our federation and unity." He added that Emiratis "raise it high, keep it lofty, and sacrifice for it always and forever."
The statement reflects the UAE's ongoing emphasis on national identity as the country marks over five decades since its formation in 1971. Flag Day, observed annually on November 3, commemorates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession as UAE President in 2004.
This year's celebrations come as the UAE continues positioning itself as a regional hub for business and diplomacy. The country has been working to strengthen its federal identity while each emirate maintains its distinct character. The flag's four colors - red, green, white, and black - represent traditional Arab unity and have become increasingly visible in government buildings and public spaces across the nation.
Sheikh Mohammed's message ended with prayers for "God's protection of the UAE people, the UAE flag, and the United Arab Emirates." The post gained significant attention on social media, with officials and citizens sharing similar patriotic messages throughout the day.
