The UAE government has set November 9-10, 2026, as the dates for its next annual meetings in Abu Dhabi. Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Al Gergawi announced the dates following this year's sessions, which launched major initiatives across key sectors and brought together government teams and private sector leaders to discuss the country's development plans.
Al Gergawi said the 2025 meetings marked a new phase in strengthening national achievements and speeding up major strategic plans for sustainable development. The sessions, held under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and chaired by Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, focused on projects that directly impact people's daily lives.
The meetings serve as more than just government planning sessions. They create a platform where government officials and private sector executives can have detailed discussions about the country's growth trajectory. This collaboration helps identify new opportunities for national talent in both sectors while ensuring development projects stay on track.
This year's agenda covered vital sectors and government operations, reflecting the leadership's vision of creating an ideal environment for advancing government work. The sessions consistently introduce fresh ideas and provide all the elements needed for successful implementation of national projects.
Al Gergawi emphasized that the meetings concentrated on important issues affecting UAE society, aiming to improve quality of life and productivity through targeted initiatives and comprehensive development plans across various service sectors.
The annual gatherings also maintain their tradition of recognizing outstanding national work teams and high achievers who contribute to strengthening the UAE's regional and international standing. This recognition system has become a key feature of the meetings over the years.
These government meetings started in 2017 following directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. They run for two consecutive days each year, bringing together senior officials, ministers, and all government entities to unify government work as one integrated system at the national level. The format allows for annual discussion of development topics while involving all national sectors in shaping the country's developmental vision.
