Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Promotes Judges and Prosecutors, Launches Judicial Best Practices Forum
Dubai's Judicial Council has approved major promotions for judges and prosecutors while launching new initiatives to modernize the emirate's court system. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Deputy Ruler and Finance Minister, led the council meeting as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Dubai's position as a global judicial reference point.
The council approved a new organizational structure for the Dubai Judicial Institute and launched a forum for best judicial practices. This forum aims to facilitate knowledge exchange between local and international judicial bodies while showcasing successful practices in the field.
Sheikh Maktoum emphasized Dubai's commitment to building a comprehensive judicial system that upholds the rule of law and maintains judicial independence. "We continue working to develop an integrated judicial system that establishes the rule of law, ensures judicial independence and integrity, and strengthens society's confidence in the judicial system," he said during the meeting.
**Expanding Academic Partnerships**
The council reviewed cooperation agreements signed with several accredited higher education institutions across the UAE. These partnerships focus on enhancing research collaboration and providing training opportunities for university students within Dubai's judicial institutions.
Sheikh Maktoum stressed the importance of expanding academic partnerships to support building a new generation of qualified national talents for judicial work. The goal is connecting academic knowledge with practical application.
**Technology Integration**
Dubai's judicial entities participated in GITEX Global 2025 under a unified platform that included Dubai Courts, Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Rental Dispute Center, Judicial Inspection Department, DIFC Courts, and Dubai Judicial Institute. This joint participation reflects the integration among Dubai's judicial bodies.
The council discussed investing in artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to boost judicial efficiency. Sheikh Maktoum highlighted the need to adopt modern technologies to improve services for court users and increase public satisfaction and trust in the judiciary.
**Performance Metrics and Training**
The meeting covered targets for the public confidence index in Dubai's judicial system. The council also approved the updated organizational structure for Dubai Judicial Institute, which was recently modified to keep pace with continuous changes in the judicial training system.
