Sharjah Chamber Explores the Future of Quality in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its World Quality Day forum, bringing together business leaders and AI experts to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping quality standards across industries. The event highlighted the UAE's push to integrate smart technologies into business operations while building workforce capabilities for the digital future.
The forum, organized with the Chamber's Youth Council, focused on "The Future of Quality in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." It drew participation from government and private sector representatives, including Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, the Chamber's Director General, and Samira Mohammed, Director General of Dubai Quality Group.
Al Awadi emphasized that quality culture has become a core management practice in Sharjah, inspired by the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. He pointed to several initiatives the Chamber has launched, including the Strategic Business Leadership program for human resource development and the annual Sharjah Excellence Award, which now uses an upgraded global evaluation model based on international best practices.
The event addressed a critical shift happening across industries. Companies are moving from traditional quality standards to AI-powered models that rely on data analysis, predictive insights, and proactive decision-making. This represents a fundamental change in how businesses approach quality control and performance management.
For businesses and investors, this transition carries significant implications. Organizations that successfully integrate AI into their quality processes can expect improved efficiency, reduced costs, and better risk management. But companies that lag behind may find themselves at a competitive disadvantage as smart quality systems become the industry standard.
The forum included presentations on leading practices in quality assurance and government sector quality standards. Participants also viewed an inspirational video titled "A Film About the Future of Quality and AI," which explored the growing relationship between these two fields.
A key discussion session examined "The Future of Smart Quality: How AI Will Reshape Global Standards." This conversation highlighted how artificial intelligence is already changing quality benchmarks across different sectors, from manufacturing to services.
The UAE's focus on AI-driven quality systems aligns with its broader digital transformation strategy. The country has been investing heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure and training programs to maintain its competitive edge in the global economy. This forum represents part of that larger effort to position the UAE as a leader in both quality management and technological innovation.
The event concluded with emphasis on the importance of strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing platforms. These collaborations are seen as essential for maintaining the UAE's leadership position in quality and innovation sectors, particularly as AI continues to reshape business operations worldwide.
