President's Diwan and Mohamed bin Zayed University of AI Forge Groundbreaking Partnership
The UAE Presidential Court has signed a partnership agreement with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence to boost AI adoption across government operations. The deal creates a framework for AI consulting, staff training, and research collaboration as the UAE positions itself as a global hub for responsible AI development.
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Humairi, Secretary-General of the Presidential Court, witnessed the signing ceremony alongside Professor Eric Xing, the university's president. Shamsa Jaber Al Falasi from the Presidential Court and Spring Chunkxiao Fu from the university signed the agreement.
The partnership comes as governments worldwide grapple with how to integrate AI technologies into public sector operations. The UAE has been particularly aggressive in this space, launching multiple AI initiatives as part of its broader economic diversification strategy away from oil dependence.
Al Humairi emphasized the importance of keeping pace with global technological developments. He said AI plays a central role in improving institutional work systems and efficiency, which aligns with the country's leadership directives. The partnership represents what he called an exemplary model of cooperation between government and academic institutions.
Professor Xing said the agreement demonstrates the university's commitment to pushing AI research toward tangible results. By combining the university's scientific innovation and technical expertise with the Presidential Court's strategic vision, the partnership aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as a leading global destination for responsible AI development.
The agreement includes several specific cooperation areas. The university will provide AI consulting services and develop human resources through specialized training programs and workshops. Five seats per year will be reserved for Presidential Court employees in the university's executive program. Both sides will also collaborate on research and participate in initiatives to raise AI awareness.
For investors and tech companies, this signals the UAE's serious commitment to building AI infrastructure and expertise. The government is creating demand for AI services while simultaneously developing local talent pools. This approach could attract more international AI companies to establish regional operations in the Emirates.
The partnership also focuses on promoting safe and responsible use of AI technologies, addressing growing global concerns about AI governance and ethics. This positions the UAE as taking a measured approach to AI adoption rather than rushing headlong into implementation without proper safeguards.
The signing was attended by several senior officials from the Presidential Court, including Dr. Abdullah Maghrabi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Studies and Research, and Hassan Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Support Services, along with AI team members from both organizations.
