New Bakery Support Initiative Boosts 9 Bakeries in Southern Gaza
The UAE continues its humanitarian aid efforts for Palestinians in Gaza through "Operation Gallant Knight 3," supporting nine bakeries across southern Gaza that produce 3,000 bread bundles daily, feeding 15,000 people amid severe food shortages.
The operation targets the bread crisis that weighs heavily on Gaza's population. These bakeries serve as lifelines for tens of thousands of families who rely on basic facilities set up inside refugee camps for their daily bread. The UAE provides flour and essential operating supplies to keep these primitive bakeries running and boost their production capacity.
During its 99th week of relief efforts, Operation Gallant Knight 3 reached 4,304 families across 26 camps with various aid supplies. The operation also responded to 843 appeals from displaced families seeking help.
The humanitarian work extends beyond bread production. Six separate initiatives supported 855 families, while 82 food kitchens distributed 32,800 meals. This comprehensive approach addresses the immediate needs of displaced populations living in overcrowded camps throughout southern Gaza.
The UAE's commitment goes beyond emergency food aid. The operation includes medical care, water provision, and reconstruction projects. This multi-layered support system reflects the country's broader strategy to address both immediate survival needs and longer-term recovery efforts for the Palestinian population.
The bread support program specifically tackles one of Gaza's most pressing challenges. With food shortages and rising hunger rates, access to basic staples like bread has become critical for family survival. The nine supported bakeries help fill this gap by maintaining steady production in areas where commercial food systems have broken down.
