Mohammed Bin Zayed University and King Salman Global Assembly Forge Collaborative Partnership
Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities and Saudi Arabia's King Salman Global Complex for Arabic Language signed a partnership deal to strengthen Arabic language research and education worldwide. The agreement was signed during the complex's fourth international conference on dictionary-making in Riyadh, with the UAE ambassador to Saudi Arabia attending the ceremony.
The partnership brings together two major institutions focused on preserving and promoting Arabic language studies. Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri from the university and Professor Abdullah bin Saleh Al Washmi, the complex's secretary-general, signed the memorandum.
Here's what the deal covers: joint research projects, sharing books and publications, creating a unified catalog of scientific resources, developing dictionaries and language databases, and supporting digital transformation in Arabic education. The institutions will also run training programs together and provide language consulting services.
This collaboration comes at a time when Arabic language institutions are working harder to maintain the language's global presence in academic settings. The King Salman Global Complex has been leading efforts in dictionary-making and incorporating artificial intelligence into Arabic language tools.
Dr. Al Dhaheri called the partnership an important milestone for his university, saying it reflects their commitment to expanding cooperation with specialized Arabic language centers. He highlighted the opportunity to benefit from the complex's pioneering work in dictionary-making and AI applications.
The deal also aims to develop joint academic initiatives that will boost Arabic language presence internationally. Both institutions see this as a way to combine their expertise and expand international cooperation in Arabic language research.
Professor Al Washmi said the agreement opens new possibilities for integration in linguistic, technical, and educational research. He emphasized that it establishes a foundation for joint work that connects institutional expertise and expands the international cooperation the complex pursues in its strategic plans.
This partnership reflects broader efforts across the Arab world to modernize Arabic language education and research while preserving the language's cultural significance in an increasingly digital academic environment.
