Math Exam for 12th Graders: Straightforward and Aligned Questions Boost Student Confidence
UAE high school students completed their first semester mathematics exam on Monday, with most reporting the test was manageable and aligned with their preparation materials. The exam lasted two and a half hours, split between paper-based and electronic components, though some technical glitches affected the digital portion.
Students across government and private schools following the Ministry of Education curriculum said the questions were straightforward and matched the exam structures they had practiced. The test catered to different ability levels, with only one question deviating from the expected format.
**Advanced track students found the exam accessible**
Mohammed Al Zaabi, an advanced track student, noted that the electronic section contained 20 questions not from the standard structure, while the paper portion was easy with just 6 questions. His classmate Rashid Mohsen said the time allocation was sufficient, allowing students to complete all sections without pressure.
The general track saw similar positive responses. Mohammed Musab finished his exam 30 minutes early, describing it as "one of the easiest exams." Most of his peers left the examination hall confident about their performance.
**Technical issues disrupted some electronic testing**
While the overall exam atmosphere remained calm and organized, several examination centers experienced technical problems during the electronic mathematics component. Some students couldn't complete their digital tests due to system failures.
School administrations reported that the Ministry of Education responded quickly to technical support complaints, working to resolve issues in record time. Dubai school principals confirmed the exam followed all ministry regulations, with strict enforcement of rules prohibiting mobile phones and smartwatches.
**English exam scheduled for Tuesday**
Grade 12 students across all academic tracks will take their English language exam on Tuesday. The test runs in two sessions: a written electronic component from 12:00 to 1:30 PM, followed by an electronic reading section.
Schools are encouraging students to attend evening review sessions before the English exam. School administrators emphasize these review classes play a significant role in helping students retain information and perform better on tests.
The mathematics exam results suggest the ministry's exam structure is working well for most students, though the technical glitches highlight the ongoing challenges of digital testing infrastructure.
