Gaza Hospitals Receive Critical Medical Supplies from 'The Gallant Knight 3' Initiative
The UAE continues delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza through "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," an initiative ordered by President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The latest round specifically targets healthcare workers struggling to maintain medical services amid catastrophic conditions in the territory.
The operation delivered 5,943 food packages to medical staff, ambulance crews, and emergency workers across hospitals in southern Gaza. Healthcare facilities that received support include Nasser Hospital, European Hospital, Al-Aqsa Hospital, Abu Youssef Hospital, Al-Najjar Hospital, and Al-Awda Hospital.
Dr. Mohammed Rabie, who heads the support committee for Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, said the aid continues the UAE's broader medical and development assistance efforts. He praised the dedication of Gaza's healthcare workers who continue operating under extreme pressure.
Gaza's medical system has been severely strained by ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis. Hospitals face shortages of basic supplies, fuel, and food while treating large numbers of casualties. Healthcare workers often work extended shifts without adequate rest or nutrition.
The UAE has positioned itself as a key provider of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, using multiple channels to deliver aid despite logistical challenges. The country has sent medical supplies, food, and other essential items through various operations since the current crisis began.
For regional stability, maintaining Gaza's healthcare infrastructure matters beyond immediate humanitarian concerns. Collapsed medical systems can lead to disease outbreaks that spread across borders, while functional hospitals help maintain some stability in crisis zones.
The focus on supporting healthcare workers specifically addresses a critical vulnerability. When medical staff can't function due to hunger or exhaustion, entire communities lose access to essential services. Food packages help ensure these workers can continue providing care to Gaza's population.
