Etihad Airways Celebrates UAE National Day with Onboard Short Film
Etihad Airways released a short film celebrating the UAE's 54th National Day, highlighting the country's growth story and the airline's role in fulfilling the vision of founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The carrier also launched limited-edition handbags for passengers as commemorative gifts.
The film tells the story of how the UAE developed from its early days to becoming a global hub. Etihad positions itself as a key player in making Sheikh Zayed's original vision come to life - connecting the Emirates to the world through aviation.
Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Etihad's CEO of Human Resources and Government Affairs, said the film honors the values Sheikh Zayed established. His vision for the UAE and the world continues to guide the airline's mission today.
"We work hard to connect people, cultures, and communities while contributing to our nation's growth," Bastaki explained. "It's an honor to celebrate National Day through this visual presentation that captures our country's past, present, and future."
The timing makes sense for Etihad. As the UAE's flag carrier, the airline has grown alongside the country's rapid economic development over five decades. The Emirates transformed from a collection of small trading ports into a major international business and tourism destination.
For the aviation industry, this kind of national branding helps airlines build emotional connections with passengers. Etihad competes with regional rivals like Emirates and Qatar Airways, so emphasizing its role in the UAE's national story gives it a unique selling point.
The limited-edition handbags will be given to passengers flying from Abu Dhabi during the National Day period. These kinds of commemorative items help airlines create memorable experiences and reinforce brand loyalty among travelers.
