Emirati Women's Leader Hosts 5th Abu Dhabi Family Forum, Addressing Key Family Issues
Abu Dhabi is preparing for its fifth annual Family Forum, running from December 12-23, 2025, under the theme "The Family: A Home and Haven." The event, backed by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, aims to strengthen family bonds and improve quality of life for UAE families through interactive workshops, cultural activities, and community programs.
The Family Development Foundation is organizing the forum at Al Bahia Square in Abu Dhabi. This year's edition promises to be more comprehensive than previous versions, bringing together families from across the seven emirates along with strategic partners and national institutions.
The forum will feature dialogue sessions, interactive workshops, and cultural heritage stations. Visitors can explore government services designed for families and communities, plus learn about initiatives specifically created for senior citizens. The event blends education with entertainment, creating spaces where different generations can connect and share experiences.
Maryam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation, explained the forum's broader purpose. "This event reflects Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's vision of cementing the family's position as the fundamental building block of society," she said. The forum serves as a unified platform where families can engage in dialogue, innovation, and meaningful interaction.
Al Rumaithi emphasized that this fifth edition caps off years of achievements by the Family Development Foundation in empowering families and strengthening their cohesion. The programs integrate knowledge with entertainment, giving families unique opportunities to connect and exchange expertise while reinforcing community participation values.
Aysha Salem Al Suwaidi, project manager for Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's Excellence and Community Intelligence Program, highlighted the forum's interactive approach. The event focuses primarily on empowering Emirati families, enhancing their cohesion, and supporting their quality of life through innovative programs that encourage intergenerational dialogue.
The forum includes educational dialogue sessions, interactive workshops, entertainment and educational activities, plus heritage and cultural pavilions that showcase national identity. Family theater performances, interactive competitions, and creative corners for children and youth round out the offerings, making it a comprehensive destination for families.
The Family Development Foundation continues its steady efforts to support family stability and enhance quality of life for families and senior citizens. Through specialized programs, innovative initiatives, and diverse forums, the foundation enables family members and the broader community to participate actively in society.
Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's Excellence and Community Intelligence Program also supports creative individuals, innovators, and those with artistic and cultural talents. The program provides inspiring platforms to showcase their creativity and strengthen their community presence, regularly hosting them at the Abu Dhabi Family Forum in recognition of their contributions to cultural and social development in the UAE.
