Emirati Leaders Honor Fallen Heroes on Martyrs' Day, Celebrating Valor and National Unity
UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan honored the nation's fallen heroes on Martyrs' Day, describing their sacrifice as eternal symbols of honor and loyalty that keep the Emirates strong and proud.
In a message posted on X, Sheikh Saif said the annual commemoration allows the nation to remember those who gave their lives while carrying the face of their homeland. "History has immortalized them as symbols of honor, loyalty, and belonging," he wrote.
The senior official praised the courage and patriotism of the martyrs, saying their steadfastness carved out "a covenant of immortality" that ensures the UAE remains "mighty and towering with its flag." He emphasized how these sacrifices directly contribute to the country's continued security and sovereignty.
Sheikh Saif also addressed the families of the fallen, acknowledging their strength during difficult times. "To the families of the martyrs, you have all our reverence. Your steadfastness is glory, and your patience is unbreakable honor," he said.
The message concluded with prayers for the martyrs and hopes that their memory continues to guide the nation's path forward. Martyrs' Day serves as an annual reminder of the human cost behind the UAE's stability and growth, particularly given the country's military involvement in regional conflicts and peacekeeping operations over recent years.
For the UAE leadership, these commemorations reinforce national unity while honoring military families who have paid the ultimate price for the country's security interests abroad.
