Emirati Leader Hails Citizens as Nation's Greatest Wealth and Foundation for Progress
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan marked the country's 54th National Day with a celebration at the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing how the nation's thousands of years of history connect its past with its future ambitions.
The President shared his thoughts on social media platform X, describing the official ceremony as "a journey of a nation, civilization, and people that extends across thousands of years with roots deep in history." He highlighted how the celebration showcased the UAE's story of progress linking past, present, and future.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed stressed that people have always been at the center of the UAE's development story. "On this precious occasion, we remember the UAE's nation-building journey, which had people as its focus and source of strength," he said. "We affirm that the sons of the nation are our most precious treasures and the foundation of our progress and prosperity."
The ceremony took place alongside other UAE rulers, marking more than five decades since the federation was established in 1971. The choice of venue - the Zayed National Museum - reinforced the theme of honoring the country's heritage while looking ahead.
For the UAE, National Day celebrations serve as both a reminder of how far the country has come and a platform to outline future goals. The emphasis on human capital reflects the leadership's focus on education, skills development, and preparing Emiratis for an economy that's moving beyond oil dependence.
The President's message comes as the UAE continues positioning itself as a regional hub for business, technology, and culture. By connecting the celebration to thousands of years of history, the leadership reinforces the idea that today's UAE builds on deep cultural foundations rather than just modern wealth.
