Emirati Leader Calls for Unity and Sacrifice on UAE National Day

Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum congratulated UAE leadership and citizens on the country's 54th National Day, emphasizing how today's achievements reflect the vision of the nation's founding fathers and calling on young generations to continue building the country's future together.

Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and Chairman of Dubai's Executive Council, shared his message through his official X account. He highlighted how every achievement the UAE makes today carries the fingerprints of Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Rashid, and the founding fathers.

"We see a will that never knew the impossible and insisted on success and distinction," he wrote, referring to the determination that built the modern UAE from seven separate emirates into a unified federation in 1971.

The Crown Prince's message comes as the UAE celebrates over five decades of rapid development that transformed it from a collection of small Gulf states into a major economic and diplomatic hub. The country now hosts global businesses, serves as a regional financial center, and plays an active role in international affairs.

His remarks about unity carry particular weight given the UAE's federal structure, where each emirate maintains its own character while contributing to national goals. This balance has helped the country maintain stability while pursuing ambitious projects like hosting Expo 2020 and developing renewable energy initiatives.

Sheikh Hamdan specifically addressed the country's youth, telling them that "we are building a bright future today together with firm faith and a stable foundation that does not change." This reflects ongoing efforts to prepare Emiratis for leadership roles in an economy that's moving beyond oil dependence.

"This is one country with one flag and one president, and it deserves from all of us to give and sacrifice for it every day," he concluded. The message reinforces the UAE's focus on national identity as it continues expanding its global influence through initiatives in space exploration, artificial intelligence, and climate action.

The 54th National Day celebrations highlight how the UAE has maintained its founding principles while adapting to global changes, positioning itself as a bridge between East and West in trade, diplomacy, and culture.
