Dubai Hosts Epic "Destiny in the Desert" Clash for World Boxing Union Title Between Aldahe and Brock
Dubai will host a major professional boxing match called "Destiny in the Desert" on February 13, 2026, featuring UAE champion Issa Al Dah against former world champion Kell Brook from Britain. The fight puts Al Dah, the first professional boxer in UAE history, against Brook, a former IBF welterweight champion, competing for the WBC world title.
The bout takes place at The Agenda venue in Dubai Media City with backing from Dubai Sports Council. All proceeds go to a humanitarian foundation named after late British boxing legend Ricky Hatton. This reinforces the UAE's position as a global hub for elite sports and a regional center for professional boxing.
Al Dah, known as "The Arab Warrior," expressed gratitude to Ricky Hatton during the press conference for believing in his vision and helping put him on the world boxing map. He emphasized his motivation goes beyond personal gain.
"I'm not fighting for money or fame, but to raise my country's name," Al Dah said. "I promise the audience a strong fight worthy of this event's level. I also thank Kell Brook for accepting this match with me. I respect Kell as a great champion and experienced fighter."
Brook, nicknamed "The Special One," stands as one of Britain's top modern boxers. He won the IBF welterweight world title in 2014 and held it until 2017. The British fighter welcomed the chance to help develop boxing in Dubai and praised Al Dah's efforts to promote the sport in the UAE.
"It's unfortunate that legend Ricky Hatton passed away, and it's important we contribute to supporting athletes' mental health and highlight the humanitarian side of boxing," Brook said. "I know Issa is coming to ignite the atmosphere, and I promise fans an exciting match worthy of this event's status."
The match represents more than just a sporting contest. It showcases Dubai's growing influence in international boxing while supporting mental health awareness through the Hatton foundation. For Al Dah, this fight offers a chance to prove UAE boxing belongs on the world stage against a seasoned former champion.
