Dramatic Draw: Dhaid and Masfoot's Six-Goal Thriller in UAE First Division League
Al Dhaid secured their first point of the season with a dramatic 3-3 draw against visiting Masfout in the UAE First Division on Sunday. The result lifts Masfout to seventh place with four points, while Al Dhaid finally gets off the mark after three winless rounds.
The match got off to a flying start when Al Dhaid's Omani striker Faris Hilal found the net just two minutes in. But Masfout quickly turned things around with Zambian forward Mignon Koto scoring twice in quick succession - first in the 10th minute, then again five minutes later to put the visitors ahead 2-1.
The back-and-forth continued when Gambian player Ebrima Jeng extended Masfout's lead to 3-1 in the 40th minute. Al Dhaid fought back through Moroccan midfielder Adnan Al Wardi, who pulled one back in the 22nd minute and completed his brace early in the second half with a 50th-minute equalizer.
Masfout's task became much harder when defender Tidiane Malik Silka received a red card in the 56th minute, forcing them to play the final third of the match with ten men. Despite the numerical disadvantage, they managed to hold on for a point.
For Al Dhaid, this draw represents a crucial breakthrough after starting the season with three straight defeats. The point gives them something to build on as they look to climb away from the bottom of the table. Masfout, meanwhile, will be pleased with their attacking display but may rue the missed opportunity to claim all three points after taking a two-goal lead.
