Celebrate the Essence of UAE at the Vibrant 'Um Al Emarat' Festival in Al Ain and Al Dhafra from November 28
Abu Dhabi is launching its biggest family celebration of the year with the "Mother of the Emirates Festival" running from November 28 to December 2. The five-day event, themed "Beyond Imagination," marks the UAE's Union Day celebrations across two major locations in Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi organized this festival with Bragg Events to create what they're calling a complete family experience. It combines entertainment, arts, culture, and food in a celebration that highlights national pride and belonging.
Two venues will host the festivities. In Al Dhafra, activities take place at Al Mughairah Beach from Modon, running daily from 4 PM to 10 PM. Al Ain Square extends its hours from 4 PM until midnight, giving families more time to enjoy the celebrations.
The festival brings together local and international artists for live performances, carnival games, and interactive activities designed specifically for children. Creative zones will keep younger visitors engaged while food vendors offer both local and international cuisine options.
Each evening ends with fireworks displays lighting up the skies over both cities. Al Ain adds musical concerts featuring regional stars to its nightly programming.
This festival represents Abu Dhabi's broader strategy to position itself as a cultural and family entertainment destination. The emirate has been investing heavily in events that celebrate Emirati identity while attracting both residents and tourists. These celebrations serve a dual purpose - they strengthen national unity while boosting the local tourism and hospitality sectors.
The timing coincides with the UAE's Union Day, one of the country's most significant national holidays. This creates an opportunity for both cultural celebration and economic activity, as hotels, restaurants, and local businesses typically see increased demand during such events.
