AI Innovation Shaping the Future: Exploring the Cutting-Edge Advancements at GITEX Global 2025
Dubai is getting ready to host GITEX Global 2025, the world's largest tech event bringing together AI pioneers, startups, and tech companies from October 13-17. This year's event will showcase how artificial intelligence is moving from concept to reality, with over 6,800 companies and 2,000 startups from 180 countries demonstrating the latest breakthroughs in quantum computing, cloud systems, cybersecurity, and digital health.
The exhibition comes at a time when AI has stopped being a futuristic idea and become part of everyday digital systems. From generative AI that helps Formula 1 racing strategies to specialized chips powering major corporations, these technologies are already changing how businesses operate.
Cloud Platforms Meet AI
Snowflake will present its AI Data Cloud platform, designed to help companies build and scale applications more easily. The company is rolling out Snowflake Intelligence, which uses large language models to help users extract insights from both structured and unstructured data. Their Cortex AISQL integrates generative AI directly into SQL queries, while SnowConvert AI speeds up data migration from legacy systems to modern platforms.
The company is also announcing its second regional cloud computing center in the UAE. "By unifying computing, storage, and AI within one platform, Snowflake makes it easier for organizations to adopt AI solutions while maintaining the highest standards of data governance and security," said Mohamed Zwari, Snowflake's general manager for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
Smart Cities and Real-World Applications
Presight, part of the G42 group, will showcase IntelliCity, a next-generation smart city platform that helps governments move from reactive operations to proactive, autonomous urban management. The company is demonstrating practical AI applications including AI-Policing Suite for smart security systems, LifeSaver for emergency response, and NewsPulse for AI-powered news analysis.
"AI has become a strategic resource. For countries that master it, they ensure their digital sovereignty and strengthen their economies," said Thomas Pramudham, CEO of Presight. "From cybersecurity to industrial resilience, the ability to process data and make decisions based on it has become central to national power."
Computing Power for AI Demands
IBM will demonstrate its watsonx platform, designed to help organizations move AI from experimental phases to full-scale production. The company is showing real examples, including a Formula 1 simulator for Ferrari that generates instant race reports in the brand's style, and Scout Advisor for Sevilla FC, which turns decades of scouting reports into searchable, analyzable data. IBM is also presenting its Quantum System Two, showcasing quantum computing's role in solving complex future problems.
The company has applied AI across hundreds of workflows and is working toward $4.5 billion in productivity savings. Their generative AI business is worth over $7.5 billion, according to Shukri Eid, IBM's vice president and general manager for the Gulf, Levant, and Pakistan.
AMD is addressing the massive computing needs created by large language models and generative AI through its Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs. These chips handle the enormous training requirements for AI while maintaining energy efficiency for sustainable AI expansion.
"Organizations looking to maximize AI benefits need to diversify their silicon-based infrastructure, enabling them to build highly energy-efficient data centers and achieve superior performance in AI applications," said Zeid Ghatas, AMD's general manager for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
AI-Powered Personal Computing
Acer is unveiling a new series of laptops equipped with dedicated AI processors and its integrated Acer AI Suite software. These devices let users access advanced AI capabilities directly on their machines without needing cloud connectivity. Features include real-time translation, automatic performance optimization, and other smart applications that make AI a practical part of daily life.
"By integrating AI directly into our devices, Acer is creating fundamental changes in business environments and various sectors," said Michel Montechio, Acer Middle East's general manager. "Organizations benefit from workflow automation and data protection, teachers provide more personalized learning experiences, and creators get powerful tools for editing, designing, and producing content."
Global Conversations on AI's Future
Beyond the exhibition floor, GITEX Global provides a platform for discussing AI's biggest questions and its impact on economy, culture, and institutions. Amazon Web Services' Tanoya Randhery will lead a keynote session on strategically adopting AI for comprehensive global economic prosperity.
Dato Pua Khein Seng, CEO of Phison Electronics and inventor of the USB flash drive, will discuss Malaysia's AI ambitions and semiconductor innovation. Jack Hidary, CEO of SandboxAQ (named to TIME100's most influential companies for 2025), will explore drug discovery using quantum computing and how the large-scale integration of AI and quantum computing is reshaping pharmaceutical industry futures.
Dr. Mehdi Snene, head of AI at the United Nations in Switzerland, will address one of the most important issues: ensuring an equitable AI future that doesn't deepen gaps or misrepresent cultural identities.
The event reflects how AI is no longer about future possibilities but current realities. Companies are moving beyond testing phases to implement AI solutions that deliver measurable results. For investors and governments, this represents both opportunity and urgency - the countries and organizations that build strong AI capabilities now will have significant advantages in the coming decade.
