ADtv Content Migrates to Starzplay Amid Strategic Partnership with Abu Dhabi Media
Abu Dhabi Media, the UAE's leading media company, has signed a strategic partnership with StarzPlay to move all ADtv content to a completely new digital platform called ADMN within the StarzPlay app. The deal marks a significant shift in regional digital broadcasting and offers viewers a free, enhanced streaming experience starting November 4, 2025.
The partnership brings together Abu Dhabi Media's content library with StarzPlay's advanced streaming technology. Current ADtv users will need to transition to the new platform by November 30, 2025, when the old app shuts down permanently. The move gives viewers access to all their favorite shows, series, and movies alongside exclusive Abu Dhabi Media content through a more sophisticated technical system.
This collaboration comes as streaming services battle for market share across the Middle East and North Africa region. Traditional broadcasters are increasingly partnering with established streaming platforms rather than going it alone in the competitive digital space. The deal allows Abu Dhabi Media to tap into StarzPlay's existing user base while StarzPlay gains access to premium Arabic content.
"This partnership embodies our ambitious strategy to keep pace with digital transformations in the media sector," said Rashid Al Qubaisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Media. He emphasized that moving ADtv content to StarzPlay reflects the company's vision for easier access to their programs and channels while ensuring superior technical performance.
StarzPlay CEO Maaz Sheikh highlighted how the partnership allows them to reach new audiences with Abu Dhabi Media's content while strengthening their position in the regional digital media competition. The collaboration demonstrates StarzPlay's commitment to working with leading regional media institutions.
The new platform offers several technical upgrades for users. These include high-quality streaming, better performance across different devices, personalized user profiles, advanced parental controls, and smart recommendations based on viewing preferences. Users can watch all Abu Dhabi Media channels live, including Abu Dhabi TV, Emirates Channel, Abu Dhabi Sports, Baynounah, Majid, Yas Channel, and National Geographic Abu Dhabi, plus radio network platforms.
For investors and industry watchers, this partnership signals a broader trend in the region's media landscape. Rather than competing directly with global streaming giants, regional broadcasters are finding strategic alliances more effective. Abu Dhabi Media gets access to proven streaming technology and a wider audience, while StarzPlay strengthens its content offering with premium Arabic programming.
The deal also opens doors for future collaboration on joint productions and exclusive content. This could help both companies create higher-quality programming that meets changing audience needs while keeping up with global trends in digital media production.
The transition represents more than just a technical move. It's a strategic shift that enhances user experience and creates new opportunities for engaging with Arabic and regional media content. By combining Abu Dhabi Media's content strength with StarzPlay's technological infrastructure, the partnership positions both companies to compete more effectively in the rapidly evolving regional streaming market.
