Adibek 2025: Shaping the Future of the Energy Sector on a Global Stage
Abu Dhabi is hosting the world's largest energy sector event starting today, as ADIPEC 2025 kicks off at the ADNEC Abu Dhabi center. The conference and exhibition runs until November 6 and expects to draw over 205,000 visitors from 172 countries, cementing Abu Dhabi's position as a global energy hub at a time when artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented demand for power.
The numbers tell the story of this event's scale. More than 2,250 companies will showcase their technologies, while 1,800 speakers — including 45 energy ministers and 250 CEOs — will discuss how to meet surging global energy demand. Last year alone, deals worth over $10 billion were signed during ADIPEC events.
This year's theme, "Smart Energy for Accelerated Progress," reflects the industry's focus on building resilient energy systems while expanding smart solutions. The timing is significant as AI development and emerging market growth are pushing energy demand to new heights.
"This global event has supported the sector in investment and innovation for more than 40 years to meet growing energy demand," said Abdul Muneem Saif Al Kindy, ADIPEC 2025 chairman. He pointed to last year's $10 billion in deals as evidence of the event's concrete impact on the industry.
For energy companies and investors, ADIPEC serves as a crucial marketplace where partnerships form and technologies find funding. The conference includes over 380 sessions split between strategic discussions and technical presentations. Industry leaders will examine five key areas: emerging economies, natural gas and LNG, refining and petrochemicals, diversity and leadership development, and AI technologies with digital transformation.
The exhibition spans 17 halls, featuring pavilions from 54 national and international oil and energy companies, plus 30 international pavilions. Four specialized zones focus on digital transformation, emissions reduction, offshore operations and logistics, and artificial intelligence.
Ali Saeed Al Ameri, chairman of Al Shumookh Oil Services Group, highlighted how the event positions Abu Dhabi as a global center for integrating energy and AI sectors. This integration matters because AI's massive power requirements are reshaping energy infrastructure planning worldwide.
The technical conference, organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, includes 159 specialized sessions with over 1,100 experts demonstrating how technical innovations and applied intelligence create measurable impact. These sessions matter for engineers and technologists working on solutions to scale energy systems efficiently.
ADIPEC 2025 represents the largest edition in the event's history, reflecting the energy sector's rapid evolution and the growing importance of smart technologies in meeting global power needs. The concentration of industry decision-makers in one location creates opportunities for deals and partnerships that shape energy infrastructure for years to come.
